How Secortex collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide, along with a timestamp and the IP address that sent the request. If you opted in to marketing updates we record that preference.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry (legal basis: consent).
- To prevent abuse of the form — the IP address is used only for rate-limiting and is not stored long term (legal basis: legitimate interests).
- If you opt in via the cookie banner, to understand how visitors use the site via Google Analytics 4, and to measure advertising effectiveness via the Google Ads tag (legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- If you opted in, to send occasional product and service updates (legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
Cookies
We always use a single strictly-necessary first-party cookie, secortex_consent, to remember your cookie choice for 12 months. This cookie does not identify you.
If you choose “Accept all” on the cookie banner, we additionally load Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors move through the site, and the Google Ads tag to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Together they set the following first-party cookies:
_ga— a client identifier (expires after 2 years)._ga_<id>— session state for this property (expires after 2 years)._gcl_au— Google Ads conversion linker (expires after 90 days).
IP addresses are anonymised before storage (anonymize_ip: true). Data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. When you do, we delete the Google Analytics cookies on the current domain and stop loading the analytics script on subsequent page loads.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.
